• Facebook doesn’t show what I put in the “edit snippet” option on edit page/post/post-types. I tried “facebook sharing debugger” but it doesn’t scrape properly. I also tried to explicitly put facebook title, facebook description and facebook image in the Yoast SEO panel, still no luck.

Also, for the custom post types (forums, topics, replies), it directly pulls even breadcrumb as meta description. But I want them to pull from the Main Body content of the posts.

For example, what I set: Screenshot 1 from imgur

And how it show on fb: Screenshot 2 from imgur

The homepage is sharing correctly on Facebook. Were you able to resolve the issue?

Have you setup the title and meta templates for each custom post type? If not, you can add or change the title and description templates in the settings under

    Admin > SEO > Titles & Metas*

    * If you do not see Titles & Metas, the advanced settings can be enabled by following the steps here.

Hello, I’ve fixed homepage issue by finding out the conflict between yoast seo and a sharing plugin.

But one more thing, when I share a forum, it pulls breadcrumbs and other meta data in the sharing snippet. But I want to pull only the Body of the forum- the core discussion. How to do so? here is an example forum, share this and you’ll understand: https://www.bohubrihi.com/forum-topic/is-there-a-course-on-adobe-photoshop

And about the meta template for description: can you tell me the variable for pulling the main description part of a post/page? (which we type in the text editor of “add/edit new post/page”)

    Thank you!

We ran the URL through Facebook’s object debugger to see the current information stored for Facebook shares. The stored information matches the same output in your source code. This means sharing is working as expected.

The template for description varies on the custom post type. Some you can use %%excerpt%% but other’s requiring knowing the name of the fields where the custom post types stores their data. These questions are best asked from the plugin or theme developer that created the custom post type.
