    Hi! I’m having issues with setting a custom publisher_id param on specific products. When the product is first added to a post and the post is previewed, the url tag=XYZ shows up correctly (with the publisher_id specified). When the post is published, url tag reverts to the default “Amazon Affiliate Id” specified in APIP Settings.

    Any way to prevent this?

  • @suzmas,
    Can you give me an example? How are you specifying the ID for the post?

    Hi Don,

    Sorry for the late reply here. In my comment above I was referring to the partner_id param (not publisher_id)- whoops!

    In plugin settings, Amazon Affiliate ID is set to ybd20. In the post I’m using a shortcode like:

    [amazon-element asin=”B002W87P9C” partner_id=”testing42″ fields=”title”]

    Expected behavior- return the linked product title, with the url “tag” param equal to “testing42”.

    Actual behavior- returns the linked product title, with the url “tag” param equal to “ybd20”.

    Hi @suzmas,
    I’ll look into it and see what the issue is. It is most likely a bug for in the shortcode rendering.

    Regards,
    Don

    Thanks for looking into this Don! Just wondering if you have an update on this?

    @huyzee,
    We should have an update ready in about a week. Sorry for the delay – we have been working on Blocks integration for Gutenberg and that has been taking some time.

    Warm Regards,
    Don

    @huyzee,
    Version 4.0.3 should fix this issue for you. Please let me know if you still have issues.

    ** Remember **
    Clear the amazon product cache (in the plugin menu), browser cache and any site caching you are using (i.e., WP Super Cache, WP Cache or any other) after you update the plugin. This will purge any old cached data stuck there.

    Warm regards,
    Don

    Thanks so much for updating Don! We’ll get on this.

    Hey Don, just a quick update.

    Our dev tested this and cleared all the caches you mentioned. on 4.0.3 the partner_id is not taking. We rolled back to 3.6.4 to have this feature working.

    @huyzee,
    Thanks for the update.

    It’s a bit odd. Are you 100% sure that all the caches were cleared? I have tested this over 100 times on about a dozen different installs and it works 100% of the time for us – except when using memcached – but it does even work with memcached, after the entire cache or the page cache is purged and the browser cache is cleared.

    If you have a development site that you wouldn’t mind giving us access to, I’d be happy to test it in your environment and see if we can come to a reason for the issue.

    You can contact me with any information at appip-help@fischercreativemedia.com and just reference this thread so we know the case history.

    Warmest regards,
    Don

    @huyzee,
    I just noticed some debug code is still active in the live update I am going to send another update tonight to remove it. It should not affect anything else though.

    Regards,
    Don

    @huyzee,
    Any progress with the latest version?

    Regards,
    Don
