Support » Plugin: Ultimate Product Catalog » Custom product page disappear

    Hello again.
I’m having serious problems with the custom product page. Every time I want to update content I have to cross my fingers and pray that I do not disappear again all the layout. One in five times it disappears. When this happens, the product page disappears completely from the web. This with leads that I have to re-build everything quickly, because I do not want the user detect problems. I use it on two versions: Mobile and desk version.
I have all WordPress, theme (enfold) & plugins completely updated.

I have tried with two webs, and two completely new installations but the problem is the same. Is there any way to back up the custom product page?

    Thank you very much!

    PD:
    I forgot to tell you.
When that happens it is to give the button save if there is no luck (whether changes have been made or not). The personalized mobile template is also completely deconfigured (although it does look).

    I use the Chorme browser.

    Hi Alberto,

When you say that everything disappears, do you mean that you go to the “Product Page” tab in the admin and there’s nothing there? No layout at all? If so, then what does it look like on the front end at this point?

Or do you mean that the layout is messed up or different from what it had been?

If you mean something else altogether, please let us know.

    Thank you

    Exactly.
From the Backend I use custom designs from Product Page. I go to the “Product Page” tab and select the “Product page – Regular” & “Product page – Mobile” I have been using the plugin for a long time and have tried two completely different installations. The problem is the same.

In the Layout “Product page – Regular” I modify something (with my done already done) or I simply keep, and sometimes when doing that all the design disappears.
Everything is all the design of my “Product page – Regular”. The plugin keeps running and WordPress too. When this happens the product page also disappears completely in the FrontEnd (I see my header, menu, footer … but the page is not.

On the other hand in the BackEnd. The page of the layout “Product page – Mobile” I see that the design has not disappeared but in the front end appears discolored.

This has happened to me many times. And the only way to fix it has been to go back to work all over again and re-layout my product page quickly, before users see that there is not product page … But now it is happening again on the site in Development (with a completely new and different installation).

It takes me a lot of work to reposition the entire product page each time this happens.

I use the WPML plugin but I do not think it interferes with anything with Product Catalog.

    Sorry for my English.

    Greetings and thank you!

    Hi Alberto,

Thank you for following up with this extra information. I’m sorry to ask a question so similar to something we’ve already asked, but is it disappearing right in the middle of when you’re working on it? Or is it that you save your work and, when you come back to the product page, it’s gone?

Unfortunately, this sounds like there is probably a conflict between the JavaScript used for the layout builder and the JavaScript used by another one of your plugins or the theme. When it happens, have you ever checked the developer console to see if there are any errors?

Have you ever tried using our tabbed product page layout? It includes all the features of the custom product page and much more (including videos, social sharing, custom content in custom tabs, etc.) all in a responsive design that looks good on all devices. I understand that you’ve put quite a bit of work into the custom product page layout and I don’t want to suggest that you abandon that, but perhaps you can have a look at the tabbed product page layout and see if it could work for your needs.

Hi, thanks for the help. The truth is that I always do the designs first in photoshop. Then I try to use the tool that best suits the design. The idea was to present all the information directly, layout on the same page. So a design in eyelashes does not solve the situation.

The fault (deletion of blocks of the personalized page) happens just the moment I click Save. At that moment I see that my work has been lost. Going to the frontend I see that page with nothing. At the same time, I see that the personalized product page of the mobile phone has gone offline.

I have re-built the custom page blocks so I can not tell you now if I see javascript error on the console.

If it happens again I will try to copy the data of the console.

However, if you can, try designing a custom product page (computer version) by creating custom fields, including text fields.
Maybe you can reproduce the error.

Another problem I’ve seen is that text placed in text fields (blocks) is not always saved.

Thank you very much for the help.

    Regards!

    Hi Alberto,

Thank you for that information. We’ve run numerous tests with the custom product page and have never encountered the issue you’re experiencing, in which the layout disappears when you click save.

That being said, I know it isn’t the same issue you’re having, but we have been experiencing some issues with the layout editor and certain elements resizing and jumping under others when they’re saved. We have found that if you insert a “Blank” element just to the right of a specific element, it will prevent it from incorrectly resizing or moving.

For example, if you put together the layout that you want, will the editor let you add in another “Blank” element to right of everything? If so, doing this may help to keep everything else in order when the layout is saved. I’m wondering if it may also help with the issue you’re having.

Thank you very much for the help.

I know it’s weird. Perhaps an update (WordPress or Plugin) has corrected the problem. The problem has presented the issue in different facilities, and am living through it, write errors on the console.

About the “Blank” element… I confirm that I’ve always used it. I put a “Blank” element on the right that fills the entire vertical height of the content.
Usually I have also placed a horizontal “Blank” element below the content.

    Do not worry.
If reoccurs write errors JS here.

    thank you very much!

    Hi Alberto,

    Hello!
I write to you because it has happened again.

The catalog product has disappeared by giving the Save … button.
This time it was because I changed the text of a text box.

The console gave me an error in the file jquery-migrate.min.js? Ver = 1.4.1: 2,
JQMIGRATE: Migrate is installed, version 1.4.1. The error is as follows:

“Failed to clear temp storage: It was determined that certain files are unsafe for access within a Web application, or that too many calls are being made on file resources.

Please, I have already happened to several different sites using this function. I can not believe it has not happened to anyone else.
As a result of having to restore a backup the web has been 1 hour without service (between restore copy and disappearance of product sheet) so this is affecting me a lot.

    I also detected another problem.
When the product page works … when you see LightBox of the images (by clicking on them and passing), the main image appears several times repeated.

Please keep me informed of progress on the problem.
    Thank you very much!

    Regards!

    Hi Alberto,

Can you send us the URL to your catalog page? This will allow us to see the lightbox issue you mentioned (and possibly see if there are additional console errors causing the other issues)

    Thread Starter AlbertoDeGabriel

    (@albertodegabriel)

    Of course.
Can I send the url privately? If you provide an email address I will give you the information.
    Thank you very much!

I have sent the address by email. (contact@etoilewebdesign.com)
