Support » Plugin: Google Tag Manager for WordPress » Custom prices are not identified on a product page

  • Hello,

First of all, thanks a lot for creating this magnificent plugin.

I am trying to send a product data from the product page (impressions) to data layer.
My shop has 2 languages (powered by WPML / Woocommerce Multilingual), for EN there are regular prices and for UA there are custom prices on every product. The problem is that Google Tag Manager sees EN regular prices and can’t see UA custom prices.

EN version of the product: http://supportbypoustovit.com/en/shop/hoodie-ego-black/
UA version of the product: http://supportbypoustovit.com/shop/hoodie-ego-black-ukr/
EN price is € 70, shown correctly.
UA custom price is 2000 UAH, GTM can’t see it.
Please have a look at screenshots from Tag Assistant.

The important thing that I noticed is that on Cart step the UA total price is shown correctly in Tag Assistant. So it doesn’t work only on product page (added this screenshot too).

Could you please help to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

I guess the root of this issue is that with “Woocommerce Multilingual” you can set individual prices for your products to each language which is not stored or handled like regular prices in WooCommerce.

I am not sure however how could I check what needs to be improved in my plugin since “Woocommerce Multilingual” needs a paid subscription of WPML.

    Hi Thomas,

    Thanks for your reply!
What if I send you theme and plugin folders so you could check how these custom prices are handled? Hope this would help as I am not so familiar with the plugin structure. 🙁

    Hi, @duracelltomi

It would be great if you could join our Go Global Program.
You can find details about it here.
    https://wpml.org/documentation/theme-compatibility/go-global-program/
Our compatibility team will be happy to cooperate with the authors in making their plugin officially compatible with WPML.

    Hi Itamar,

    Thanks for the opportunity!
Lets talk about this in January, this year is already full with my own tasks and family programs, but it would be definitely great if we could go through the compatibility process.

    Hi,

Today I noticed that, despite the fact that GTM Manager can’t see the WPML custom prices on a product page, the mini cart shows these prices correctly using “data-gtm4wp_product_price” (screenshot).
Maybe adding this to the product page could work out too?

It can happen that only some small correction is needed here. I will dig deep into this issue in January

    Yes, likely. Thanks!
    Looking forward to it.

Quick update: I’ve just contacted WPML to get the plugin into the compatibility program

    Hi @yurabogdanov ,

How did you create the loading symbol, when you add something to the cart?

    Hi @chefpanda123,
Do you mean the chestnut one?
We’ve just replaced the default loader icon in the theme with our own icon (using custom CSS and custom icon-font).

    Hi @duracelltomi!
Just curious if there’s any news on compatibility process?

We are still building the test site to see what needs to be fixed.

    @duracelltomi Thanks for your reply!
Can I be helpful to achieve that?
We could possibly duplicate our site to see what’s going on there.

    @irondev What do you think?

@yurabogdanov that would be helpful, could you contact me on gtm4wp.com?

I will proceed with the wpml process next week but if we could test changes on your testing site, that would be awesome
