Sounds like you got things working as a whole.

Regarding adding such things to the plugin by default, we have actively chosen not to take that route with CPTUI because we feel doing so for everyone actually oversteps bounds. We don’t have any way to tell if a given user wants that or not, and we also have a very wide install base of existing users that we don’t want to suddenly start doing that for.

Thus, we have the documentation set up to help with this for those who use the free plugin. We also offer it as a checkbox option, unchecked by default, for people who have purchased our premium CPTUI-Extended extension.

That said, we do appreciate the feedback regarding the topic.

Thanks for the quick reply Michael.

I appreciate the free plugins and their author’s contribution. I would think the function of displaying custom posts by category or tag is fairly basic and not a special requirement. I wasn’t aware of that the pay version takes care of this part. You guys gotta each and pay the bills – understandable.

    cheers

I’d friendly argue that the pay version does in a certain way, in that it has some quick built in UI for it. In the end though, it’s doing it the exact same way that our above documentation does it. One just requires a couple more minutes of work 😀
