What you described is the expected behavior for the plugin to date – GrabPress Autoposter feeds allow you to post videos to your top level WordPress categories.
However, I can take your feature request (enable Autoposter feeds to post to custom post types) and discuss it with our engineers to see if it sounds like something we can add to the backlog for our team. It would help if other users who might be interested in this feature could chime in. It seems like a reasonable feature enhancement request, but we’ll need to hash out the requirements.

This item is in our product backlog and it will be reviewed by the business stakeholders for potential scheduling and prioritization. The next release for GrabPress (v2.4.1) will be using the same code base for WordPress.com and WordPress.org, so there may be some question about how far we can support custom post types – but we value the suggestion on functional merit, within the WordPress.org platform context.
