# Custom post types not using pretty permalink

 * I’m having a problem on [http://okpsa.org/](http://okpsa.org/). There’s a custom
   post type called events, and while all the data is still being pulled in correctly
   after upgrading, the permalinks are no longer pretty. Not sure which of the recent
   upgrades this happened during, but I just noticed it.
 * What should show up on the front page (and in the sidebar) as this:
 * [http://okpsa.org/event/mike-springer-psc-group-llc/](http://okpsa.org/event/mike-springer-psc-group-llc/)
 * Instead changed to show up as this:
 * [http://okpsa.org/?post_type=event&p=564](http://okpsa.org/?post_type=event&p=564)
 * Oddly, the permalinks still work, thankfully, since I had emails scheduled in
   MailChimp with the links.
 * The template for the home page uses the function the_permalink() to generate 
   the link.
 * Any ideas how I can fix that?

 * I’m having the same issue [over here](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/urls-incorrect-for-scheduled-posts?replies=11#post-6929898).
 * Looks like this was done on WP v4.2 and from what I can see there’s no way of
   getting pretty permalinks on future posts.
