I use Genesis based child themes.

I have the Custom Post Type UI and have created a new type, however I do not want the author and time /date line to show up it’s not needed. Is there a way to configure it in the CPT UI settings area?

No, CPTUI has nothing like that for this setting. You’ll need to edit this detail at the child theme level.

I’d check with Genesis support and their documentation. That should be able to offer some better leads there. I know Genesis is very hook-heavy, and they likely have something on this one already.
