It will work on custom post types. Please check whether you have enabled comments for each posts.

When you create/edit a custom post, go to screen options, check ‘Discussion’ and go to bottom, and enable comments

Yes, i can confirm that comments are enabled for each post type and It was working until a recent update, not sure when it stopped working.

If i disable DCL the normal comments are displayed and functional on all posts, but when DCL is enabled the disqus block is only loading on standard WP posts.

Am i right in thinking there was a meta field for enabling CPT support in a previous version of DCL?

No. There were no meta field like that, but it should be that enable comments checkbox.

Can you go to DCL Settings and save all settings once and try again?

    Hi,

Please open dcl-comments.php in side dsqus-conditional-load/public folder and add your custom post type there.
    See this for example.

If you are not sure about this, please let me know

    Yes, this works thanks.

Any chance you may add a option to do this in an upgrade friendly way in a future update?

    Many thanks
