custom post type index redirects to posts with title in their name

I have a custom post type called “funding” and some of the other pages and posts on the blog have “funding” as the first part of their name. I tried changing one of these posts urls but then it just redirected to another page with funding in the first part of the url. It’s not an exact match in the title but it’s still redirecting.
