 * Is it possible that this will work with a custom post type? I have a testimonials
   custom post type created and I would like to display testimonials from all of
   the sites in my network.

 * There is an option ‘post_type’ you can use to get an CPT.
 * In your case it would be if you registered it by the name ‘testimonials’:
 * post_type=’testimonials’
