Custom Post Template drop down Menu no longer appears with wordpress 3.4

Hi,
I have the same issue that is unresolved from the pervious thread. I have a custom post type that is missing the single post template select drop down since the upgrade. The drop down does appear under posts but the permalinks are different for custom posts created here.

Any help appreciated
