    Just for future reference to those who may be interested I managed to solve actually by using

    add_action('dp_duplicate_post', 'my_custom_function', 9, 2);
    
    function my_custom_function($new_id, $post){
      $old_post_id = $post->ID;
      ...
    }

    Thaks to the plugin developer for making this (and others) hook available.

    Hi @webartisan,
    yes, you can use that hook, it’s actually the same hook used by my code to perform all the operations beside the “bare” cloning of the post (terms, meta fields etc).
