Custom Permalinks Stopped Working

    Over the weekend our custom permalinks structure stopped working.

    I was using a custom structure /%postname%/ and it has been working for over a year. The first red flag that something was wrong happened when I tried to preview a post I was working on and it said I didn’t have permission. When I started clicking around on the website it would only load the homepage, every other single post and page was just a blank screen.

    Eventually I changed the permalink structure back to default and that works, however none of the others (Day and name, Month and name, etc) will work. If I have change it to anything but default every link stops working.

    I didn’t do any updates or make any changes recently so I am not sure what to do next. I really hate using the default permalink structure.

    Check with your hosts that mod_rewrite is running on your server. And try checking your site’s error logs for error messages. Your host should be able to help you in accessing your site’s error logs.
