Support » Plugin: Custom Permalinks » Custom permalinks and SEO

  • Hi there,

Yhis is just a question in general regarding the plugin and SEO:

    We have the following setup:

A custom post type for a calendar entry with the Event Organiser plugin. The URL of this custom post type has been modified with the plugin to point to a page. Since we require several different repeating calendar events to go to the same venue page without creating a different post for each of them.

The question is whether this could hurt SEO to have the custom post type and the page have the same URL? Should we rather set it so that the custome post type is not indexed by Google?

I realise this is strickly an SEO question but it might be something you have come accross?

    Kind regards
    Francois Wessels

  • Hello,

I’m not sure if I understand what you mean, but if you have one page with dynamic content, always it will be for SEO, because it will be readed by google more often.
It is like a products page, per example, you could have one category, in this category you will see 3 products, but the products could change every day, one day you have 4, another 2 and so…, that it is good for SEO

    Best regards
