Support » Networking WordPress » Custom Password at New Site Setup

Is there a plugin or tweek you can make that allows you to choose the users password when you setup a new site. My client has 200 clients for their subsites, and wants to give them custom passwords. If they could choose the password at the same time they setup a new site, this will save them a lot of time.

  • Passwords should be randomly generated and emailed to the user when the user is created. Do you want all of the users to have the same password?

Or do you mean you just want them to be able to pick their own password at signup?

The Network administrator will be setting up all the sites within the network and my client wants to give them easier to remember passwords. If the admin can choose the password while setting up the new site, it save a lot of time as there are 150 – 200 sites that need to be set up. Each new site will have a different password.

Nobody will be signing up themselves, the user account is auto generated when the Network Admin sets up their new site.

    Thanks guys.

Yow. I can see why you’d want to do that, but I dno’t know of an automated way. I mean, obviously you can make the account and change the password for them, but that’s a lot of manual work when combined with your other post.

I think there’s some batch create scripts out there somewhere (I didn’t bookmark it) and they probably have a section to stuff the password in there too.

Thanks Andrea. I will look into this. If I find a solution I’ll be sure to post it here.

    Cheers 🙂
