Support » Fixing WordPress » Custom Pages & Pagination

  • I am creating a set of pages outside the main wordpress installation and want to add pagination to my pages.

So for example I have a page that lists members

    URL /members/

When I add pagination links it takes me to /members/page/2/ which 404s.

What do I need to do to make /members/page/2/ show the second page of results and not 404? htaccess rule?

Not sure how you are creating pages outside the WP installation. But something that can help you, create different templates and stay within your WP installation. But if you don’t want these “different template” pages appearing in the top menu, just use the exclude function to exclude them from the menu.
And, are you using any pagination plugin such as WP-PageNavi? I recommend using it, makes life a whole lot easier.
Sorry if I was unable to help you but a bit further reference (link to blog or custom pages) could help me answer your questions better.

    Here is my example:

Basically displaying results ordered by view count from a custom meta field.

You will notice that is built outside of the WordPress installation.

Wow, what a nice website you got there. Nasium, you are 2 steps ahead of me in customizing WP. I’ll leave it for a WP expert or Mod to assist you with it. Sorry bro, I’m feeling like a douchebag myself 🙂
