Support » Plugin: Responsive Posts Carousel » Custom order of posts and width of carousel

  • Hello,

I set up a carousel with 4 posts. I want those 4 posts to appear in a custom order set by me. By default, they appear by date? How do I do that?

Moreover, the carousel has a limited width of 790px, but I want the carousel to be 1170px in width on desktop and to not appear on mobile devices.

    Can you please help?

    Thanks, Kjell

Hi Kjell, Can you please provide the URL to have a look?

    Regards

    Hi Rameez,

the link is the following: http://www.between-meetings.com/test/

You can see the “original” carousel of our theme on the top. However, it does not work properly, so I decided to replace it with the Responsive Posts Carousel. The size now actually looks good, I still have to adjust font colour and uppercase.

However, I want the order of the 4 selected posts to be different from the order they are displayed at the moment. How do I do that?

    Thanks, Kjell

Hi, you can use order and orderby attributes of the shortcode. Can you please tell me what is the order?

If there is some unique order, you can use following plugin

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/post-types-order/

and after reordering posts from the dashboard, you can use orderby=menu_order in the shortcode.

Let me know if you need further help,

    Regards.

Thanks, but with the plugin, I also change the order of posts in the feed. I just want to change the order in the carousel. Each post has its own ID, right? Can I define the order based on the 4 IDs of the posts using shortcode? How exactly would it work? I am not familiar with the attributes of the shortcode.

    Best, Kjell

    Yes, you can.

Please use order=ASC orderby=ID in the shortcode.

    Regards

Thanks, but if my IDs are:

    4261,5126,8452,9457

I do not want to show them ASC or DSC, but in a SPECIFIC order:

    8452,5126,4261,9457

    Does that work?

    Thank you, Kjell
