Support » Fixing WordPress » custom menu li names with wp_list_pages

  • hi is it possible to manually set the names of pages that appear in the menu when using wp_list_pages. My problem is that the page names are quite longish and they break the menu, so I would want to use shorter names just for the navigation menu. Thanks

yes i found that thanks, the only thing i have left to do is to modify the page names that appear in the menu, not sure if this is possible, if it is I’d like to know how to do it. thanks

First go to the plugin’s admin page.
    In the section Page-Specific Options
make sure you have at least this one checked
    Alternative Link Text

Now open a page you want to change the menu text of in the WP page editor.
Scroll down until you see the Page Lists Plus section below the editor box.
In the Alternative Link Text box, enter in the text you want displayed in the menu for that page
Save the page (Update) and when you refresh the web page you should now see the text you entered in that box on the nav.

ok thanks that solved it 😀
