Do you use an SSL related plugin or something like that?

nope. i did install an https force redirect plugin but removed it when i saw the issue. i’ve tried without and with different ones too but it doesn’t seem to make any difference. disabling all plugins/changing theme doesn’t fix it either.

    yes: https://[site url]/[custom login]/?action=logout&_wpnonce=a9e46a6ec9

so i get the screen that suggests i’m logged out but when i revisit the site i still have an admin bar at the top and i can go straight back into the dashboard.

I think it’s a conflict with a redirection plugin or membership plugin or some rules in the .htaccess file. Also, note that none of the website pages can have the same URL as the custom login page.

thanks gioni, looks like it was an .htaccess issue. a previous redirect plugin had edited the file so even though i had removed it i was still seeing the clash.

appreciate the help with troubleshooting. like i said above, the plugin in great.
