Support » Plugin: All In One WP Security & Firewall » Custom login URL is not sent to the new user

    Hello people,

The “All In One WP Security & Firewall” plugin allows you to customize the login page URL. However, when the new user is created, the WP automatically sends an email with the confirmation link + the password + the URL of the login page. And that URL of the login page sent is the default of the WP (/wp-login.php), but the correct one should be the custom URL.
I am receiving contact from new users stating that they are unable to access the login page. And I see that the problem is that they are accessing the /wp-login.php page.

Your plugin should send the new custom URL to the WP to recognize it as the correct login URL and thus the WP will send the new user the custom URL.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Just for testing purposes, can you disable all other plugins except ours, then carry out a registration test.

    Let me know what happens.

    Thank you

    Hi,

When registering a new user, that new user receives an email like this: https://prnt.sc/vip3pz
When clicking on the confirmation link, the new user is redirected to a WordPress page confirming the registration of the new user: https://prnt.sc/vip8zs
Note that on this page there is a link for the new user to click and go to your admin panel, however, this link is the WP standard (/wp-admin). Then, when accessing, it will give a page not found, because the login page is another (personalized). This address (/wp-admin) only works when the user is logged in.

So, it’s not a conflict with another plugin, it’s your plugin that needs to integrate the personalized address on this WP page.

Hi, I carried out some tests in my dev site and it is working correctly for me. Please check the following documentation.

    https://mbrsolution.com/wordpress/test-new-users-registration-aiowps.php

Let me know if the above helps you.

    Thank you

Just like the print I showed in my previous message, when I click on the confirmation link in the email I received, I am redirected to a page containing a link to the default login page (/ wp-admin).

My site has multisite enabled. Perhaps that is the problem. Perhaps the plugin is not compatible with multisite.

Hi, are you talking about the sub-site or the network admin site?

    Thread Starter Rodrigo

I’m talking about network admin site.

So you are saying that you are adding members to your network admin site and not your sub-site? If so that means they will not have access to your sub-site and only your network admin site. Is this correct? I just want to make sure I understand correctly how you have set up your Network site.

    Thank you

I have multisite enabled. When I am going to insert a new user, I go to the site (main site or any subsite) and register the new user (username and email).
When making this registration, the new user receives an email with the confirmation link: https://prnt.sc/vjigv7
When clicking on the link, the new user is redirected to a page containing their password, and a link to the login page, but that link is to the standard WP login page (/wp-login.php): https://prnt.sc/vjjfmy

After that, the user receives another email confirming that the account has been activated, and next to the email is the password to access admin + the link to the standard WP login page (/wp-login.php): https://prnt.sc/vjimfu

And when accessing this standard WP login page (/wp-login.php), the user is redirected to a page with a 404 error because that page does not exist since the URL of the login page is different (customized).

I decided to register a new user directly through the multisite network (/wp-admin/network/user-new.php), and this time the new user received in his email the link of the personalized login page: https://prnt.sc/vjiw1p

So, we concluded that when we register a user via the Multisite Network, the WP correctly sends the personalized login link. But when we register the user via the individual website (main website or subsite), the WP sends the default login link.

You must make sure that the personalized login link is also sent to the user when the registration is done directly through the individual website (with the multisite network activated).

    Hi,

So, we concluded that when we register a user via the Multisite Network, the WP correctly sends the personalized login link. But when we register the user via the individual website (main website or subsite), the WP sends the default login link.

That is how this feature works in a multisite environment. Once the members are added to the Multisite Network, you can then import the members to each individual sub-site if that is what you want.

Check the following link https://mbrsolution.com/wordpress/securing-wordpress-multisite-with-aiowps-plugin.php to learn more about aiowps and mulitsite network installation.

Is your issue now resolved? If it is, can you mark this support thread as resolved.

    Thank you

As when registering a user via the multisite network, it should also send the user a personalized login link when registering the user via the individual site (main site or subsite).
I leave it as a suggestion for future improvement.

it should also send the user a personalized login link when registering the user via the individual site (main site or subsite).

Is the Rename Login Page feature enabled in the sub-site you tested in your network setup?

    Thread Starter Rodrigo

    (@vejapixel)

Yes, it is activated on all sites in the network (both on the main site and on the subsites).
