Custom login form (6 posts)

Does anyone know how to use the first and last name of a user as well as their password to login instead of using username. All the users in my wordpress site have a First and Last name. I understand that by default, WordPress doesn't require you to have a first and last name, so that is why it uses username.

This can be a custom form, it doesn't have to be part of WordPress login functionality.

But I need a way to have them input their first name in one field, and their last name in another, then finally their password.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks t-p for the links, but that is not quite what i need. I am not trying to design the login page, so the custom-login will not work for me in this situation.

I read over the codex, but didn't see how to use first name and last name for login fields. I don't want to use username.

Look into this plugin and see if it can do what you want it to do:

Thanks, but still not it. The users aren't going to be registering themselves. They already have their First and Last Name in the database.
