Support » Fixing WordPress » Custom headers for different pages with Carrington template

  • I’m building a site using a modified version of the Carrington template and I haven’t been able to figure out how to get custom headers to work for different pages of the site.

I tried changing the “author” on the page I wanted changed and created a new header file using the “author-{username}.php” format but the page still defaulted to the “header-default.php” file.

The site I’m working on is currently hosted here:

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • If it’s a Page then just create a Page Template and then edit the actual Page and assign that Template.

This doesn’t work, or at least for me. Carrington uses the page.php to call different templates from within the page directory – so adding a template to the page directory and calling that should work…

Problem isn’t calling the page template, it’s calling a specific header from within that template. I think this is because of the directory structure.

I’ve tried as many variations of the instructions in the README file but I just can’t work it out.

    Anyone?
