Custom "From:" address for notification and digest emails?

Is there a way to setup a custom email address for the “from:” header in the emails that iThemes sends out?

My admin email address is whatever@domain.com but my site domain is sitedomain.com. My host is bouncing the emails because they’re coming from whatever@domain.com instead of *something*@sitedomain.com. I don’t want admin emails going to an email address on the domain and iThemes is the only plugin that doesn’t send the emails from wordpress@sitedomain.com or something similar. In all the other plugins, I can customize the “from:” field.

Is this possible and, if not, can we get this added?

You could look at using a SMTP plugin, or a service like SendGrid, SparkPost or Mailgun. Then you should be able to set which email is being used for the from.

@luke –

I’ve tried an SMTP plugin but iThemes still uses the admin email as the “from:” address even when I manually set a “from:” address in the SMTP plugin settings.

I’m not willing to use SendGrid, SparkPost, or anything else as this is the only plugin that causes these issues and doesn’t allow a custom “from:” address.

In that case, it may not be able to be changed then. Other than changing the email address for that admin user account.

Yeah, it’s not able to be changed. That’s why I’m asking for the feature to be added. I can work around it in the meantime, but it’s not ideal as I sometimes need the emails to go to someone different from where the iThemes emails go.
