Support » Plugin: WordPress Tables » Custom Filter

  • Hi 🙂

Love the plugin. I’m new to all of this, so sorry if this is a silly question:

Can you perhaps provide me with an example of how to add a custom filter to the table. The fields for the filter should be a dropdown list (or any other list, alternatively) that is populated from a select statement within one of my tables in the database. The user should choose the field, I then want to store it in a variable and use it in my WHERE clause in my query.

    Thanks!

    Hello @sune1612,

    Thank you for the question.
Currently, there is no filtering feature in WPTables.
I have an idea of adding filtering as a separate extension but do not have any estimates for that. If something changes I will update you here.

    Hope it helps.

    Regards,
    Ian

    try

“WP_Tables does not directly support custom SQL queries, However if you use phpMyAdmin to create a view, then WP_Tables can display that view.”

I like the plugin because it’s straight forward. However, I would also opt for a filter or search feature. For me, it would be ‘perfect’ then…

    Hello @jue_mue,

    Thank you for the feedback.
I see many requests for the filtering feature, so I will prioritize it in the development.

    Thanks,
    Ian

    Hi Ian

thanks for considering the filter feature. I have long, multilingual tables on the website I am working on, and users should be able to at least filter this list by two criteria, either individually or together.

I am also ready to donate, because I like your approach. Many other plugins have a lot of features, but hardly ever all the ones I’d like to use 😉

    J.
