# custom fields, v2.1.1, odd errors

 * odd things are happening with v.2.1.1 and custom fields… in fact, I even saw 
   this on my post editing screen:
 * “something strange happened. Try refreshing the page”
 * huh? guess that’s an error message that covers a lot of scenarios.
 * But to the point: editing category posts and adding custom fields is not working
   properly. I am getting “are you sure you want to edit this page” on pressing 
   Save… (it takes me to a screen that asks me that and has no or yes buttons). 
   If I press yes, I now have TWO of the same post? HUH?
 * And while adding a custom field, my published post got marked private. HUH?
 * Can someone official make a statement about KNOWN BUGS around editing posts and
   custom fields in the new 2x versions? It sure seems like there is a lot of bad
   stuff happening, from visual editors that turn good markup into invalid markup
   to (how to say this…) make functionality WORSE (more clicks) to stuff like what
   I list above.
 * Some official feedback would be nice.

 * this is happening to me to i can’t even add one custom field …it just says something
   strange happened

 * I think this got fixed in subsequent builds. At least, I’m not experiencing it
   anymore… marking this resolved.

 * I am experiencing this on WP 2.3.1. I cannot add custom fields to any posts. 
   Anyone have any suggestions on where I can begin looking in order to solve this?
   I am a PHP developer but not super keen on ajax. TIA!
