Custom Fields not working

  • Hello, I just installed WordPress 1.2 (the “plugged in” version from Alex’s site) and am very impressed with the improved functionality since I last tried WP a couple years ago. Congratulations on an increasingly impressive application!
The installation went smoothly and so far nearly everything appears to be working. For some reason, Custom Fields simply is not showing up in the output after I publish my entries. It shows up in the editing interface and appears to be working fine, but there is no sign of it in the published entry.
If anyone can help me to get this working I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your suggestions and help.

Custom fields aren’t intended to show up in your entry. They are associated with your entry, and you can access them using PHP code.
For example, you could add an “image” custom field to an entry and then write PHP code to put that image with the entry.
For a simple way of getting that custom data, check out this fine plugin:
    Get Custom
