Support » Plugin: CataBlog » Custom fields not transfering

  • Hi, i created a few new Tags/Fields/Tokens in a domain i have and i created my catablog library by added some lines in the code of catablog.
When i transfered the site all these new tags or fields show up correctly in the admin window but they are blank, which means that the IMPORT/EXPORT tool didn’t import these new fields’s values.
I know you are not responsible for this because i basically changed the code by myself, but PLEASE tell me which file to edit or What to do in order to be able to transfer the data inside these custom fields to the new Site automatically.

Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Hi have you tried to add the same code into the new website? I am sure that will allow you to import the xml file.

    I hope this helps you.

    Kind regards

Hi Manuel (mbrsolution). I tried that already, i have a question but Zach is not answering the posts on his site. My question is the next:

Which file do i edit in order to add some php code to the template. I’m using qTranslate to translate the site so i need my customers to view the single catablog template when they are on english and the single spanish catablog template i have created when they are viewing it in spanish.
I need to know which file is calling the single template when viewing a single product.
I need to make php changes there!
    Please help!

Hi ebenezer357, unfortunately I don’t know which file calls the single template. There was another person that asked the same question a while back. Check the link here. In this link do a search for qTranslate and it will take you to the conversation.

I have found on Zach’s website information about using filtering your catablog. I am just thinking that if you create a duplicate of each item “which is probably a lot of work” in both languages and add a translated category for each translation then you can use the shortcode in each language pointing to each language. For example: a category Perro and Dog. So you would duplicate the item typing the description in one language for English and on the copy in Spanish. Then create duplicate category as mentioned above, dog, perro. I just thought about this, not sure if it is what you are looking for.

Zach is the only person that knows if there is a way to achieve your goal.

    Kind regards
