  • Custom fields are still available, but there was a bug in the previous release. Did you recently update? If so, I do believe it will be fixed in 3.5. In the mean time, you can use the hotfix plugin. Read this

    Okay but i dont see anywhere about custom fields in my wordpress.

    Also is there a tutorial for switching from custom fields to a new Featured image ? Cause i guess i should change code in my old template

    Do you have custom fields enabled on post and pages? At the very top whn your logged in, you will see a tab that says “screen options” Click that and make sure custom fields are checked. In regards to the featured image, it has to be enabled in your theme. Review the codex here. Long story short, add the below to your functions.php file

    add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );

    Right Now Recent Comments Incoming Links Plugins QuickPress Recent Drafts WordPress Blog Other WordPress News Welcome

    Nothing about custom fields in screen options.

    Are you one a post or page in the backend? You need to be on a post or page to see those options.

    While editing a post or page see if custom fields are there? Which theme are you using, it is probable that the theme does not support them

    Yes i see custom fields now, thank you.

    But why is it hidden and featured image so showing off ? Is it an replacement ?

    Featured Image is a more friendly tool that works for just that, attaching a main, featured image to a post/page. Custom fields are for so much more, but are less friendly. A standard user won’t know what to do with that box if not a developer.
