# Custom Field Question

 * My site is located here: [http://www.ccbookreviews.com](http://www.ccbookreviews.com).
 * Just under my post titles I have my info like my name, the date of the post, 
   and my page views. I would like to add before my name a section where I can write
   a review #.
 * Would a custom field work in this case?? If so, I just want to make sure I understand
   the process of setting it up right.
 * The ‘Key’ would be Review. The ‘Value’ I’d change with every new post to #200(
   or what ever # I wanted?)
 * `I then need to add <?php the_meta(); ?> in my temnplate where I want the Review#
   to appear?`
 * Am I understnading the process right??

 * You understand the process correctly! Just have to use the [template tag](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags),
   [the_meta](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/the_meta), in [The Loop](http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop).
