I am trying to save Event data to a google sheet when an event is created using Zapier.

New events are showing up fine when created and updated but not all the meta data from custom fields is visible.

It seems that not all custom field data about events is available, any manual fields I add myself using Advanced Custom Fields is there but basic meta information like EventStartDate / EventEndDate – is not shown at all so I can’t access when an event is due to start and end.

I also tried accessing this data using integromat to see if it was just a problem with Zapier but it seems that the Event event type is not properly exposed to the REST API – I am suspicious that this might have been done on purpose to force people to your your own Events API which I would be very disappointed to hear.

Integromat has a plugin to detect which meta fields are not correctly available to the WP REST API and the ylist all of the following:

    _EventCost
    _EventCurrencyPosition
    _EventCurrencySymbol
    _EventDuration
    _EventEndDate
    _EventEndDateUTC
    _EventShowMap
    _EventShowMapLink
    _EventStartDate
    _EventStartDateUTC
    _EventTimezone
    _EventTimezoneAbbr
    _EventURL

Some of the most valuable information is not available for use it seems,

Have I made a mistake? Am I missing something somewhere?

    Hi @jasonbroderick ,
Thanks for reaching out with this question.

I know this can be disappointing as the first meta field you’d want to share when zaping an event would be the start and end date.

Our team is currently working on improving the integration with zapier. Hopefully we will be able to share the good news soon.
