    Yes, Relevanssi uses that custom field to store data. It is a very common way for plugins to store data about posts.

    Relevanssi doesn’t print out anything. Your theme is not behaving correctly, if it is printing out custom fields on webpages. There should be no need to delete that custom field, as it should not ever appear to site visitors. If it does, the problem is in your theme, not in Relevanssi.
