[Resolved] custom edits to footer.php causes footer to disappear

  • I made a child theme form using Version: 3.0.13 of the Customizr theme. I put the following code in the child footer.php file to customized the footer credits per the instructions on the theme creator’s site. The result is my entire footer is disappearing–the rss feed and facebook icon plus my custom credits line.
    Below is the code in my child footer.php file.

    <?php
    add_filter('tc_credits_display', 'my_custom_credits');
    function my_custom_credits(){
    $credits = 'Developed by: <a href="http://www.winebrennerdesigns.com">Winebrenner Designs</a>';
    $newline_credits = '';
    return '
    <div class="span4 credits">
                        <p> &middot; &copy; '.esc_attr( date( 'Y' ) ).' <a href="'.esc_url( home_url() ).'" title="'.esc_attr(get_bloginfo()).'" rel="bookmark">'.esc_attr(get_bloginfo()).'</a> &middot; '.($credits ? $credits : 'Designed by <a href="http://www.themesandco.com/">Themes & Co</a>').' &middot;'.($newline_credits ? '<br />&middot; '.$newline_credits.' &middot;' : '').'</p>        </div>';
    }

    The site is: http://www.winebrennerdesigns.com/bethel761/
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

    It is better to include this code in the functions.php file of your child theme.

    You can include it in a new footer.php template, but in this case, you have to make an exact copy of the original file and copy your code at the top of it.

    Hope this helps, have a nice day

    Thank you, I appreciate your help! It works now!
