I’m looking for an efficient way of customising the size of an embedded video. Currently they are too wide and expand into the side-bar area:

Grateful is anyone can provide an elegent solution to this – preferably a simple container with customisable width setting (absolute or relative) as I’m trying to avoid messing around in CSS.

    Many thanks 🙂

  • When you embed youtube videos there’s a width value, should be something like width=700, just change that to whatever you need it to be.

I’m confused. What embed method are you referring to? I don’t ’embed’ video’s using the WP ‘Add Media’ facility because then videos doesn’t display in the post except as a hyperlink to YouTube. But if I just include the video’s URL in the post it embeds as a clear video. But this way there is no container to customise dimensions..

Try using the embed method provided by YouTube, it will give you more customization. When you’re on the video’s page, hit share and then copy/paste the embed code instead of just the url.
