# Current theme … doesn't support localization

 * When trying to translate theme terms I get the error
 * `Current theme "Retro - Premium Vintage WordPress Theme" doesn't support localization,
   cannot be translated!`
 * In the themes description it is said that the theme is translatable and will 
   work with wpml.
 * The plugin “Codestyling Localization” finds the theme, it contains a textdomain
   and is translatable (albeit not multilingual).
 * Any idea what may be the problem?

 * Hi,
    the plugin try to hook the filter “load_textdomain_mofile” for know where
   the theme store “.po” files, otherwise print message “…doesn’t support localization,
   cannot be translated…”
 * In next update, if detecting fails, I’ll allow the user to choose the path where
   the “.po” and “.mo” files…

 * Thanks for the info.
 * The theme has a .po file in the theme directory. Where does Ceceppa look for 
   it? I could for example crate a subfolder and copy the .po file there.

 * okay, I did this:
 * in the theme’s functions.php I added:
 *     ```
       add_action( 'after_setup_theme', 'retro_load_language' );
   
       function retro_load_language()
       {
           load_theme_textdomain(
               'retro',
               get_template_directory() . '/languages'
           );
       }
       ```
   
 * in the theme’s style.css I added to the header:
 *     ```
       Textdomain: retro
       Domain Path: /languages
       ```
   
 * That seems to work, I now can translate the theme in Ceceppa.

 * Nope does not work. The already existing en_US.po is ignored and overwritten.

 * Actually it does work, but the po-file created by Ceceppa is way smaller than
   the original file provieded with the theme.

 * Hi,
    now the plugin load translation from “.mo”, not from “.po”…
 * I’ll try to do some test with original .po file and my created .mo file to see
   the differences 🙂
