Hi,
Could you expand a little bit on how the prices are displayed now that you have set up Booster and where does it show up incorrectly? Also, what modules have you enabled?
Hi Rokasj!
Sure.
Our prices in the Product are entered in USD. So, for example our USD price is 3.48
We activate the following modules:
Currency Exchange Rates
Currency per Product
In the Currency Exchange Rates we entered “Peso Argentino (ARS)” as the new Currency. The automatic exchange rate is 1 USD = 37 ARS.
In the Currency per Product, we setup the exchange to be calculated from “Currency Exchange Rates” module.
We updated the product mentioned before to be display in “ARS”. After that we checked the product page and shop and is still showing 3.48
After that we add the product to a cart and is showing 0.09
Here we have two problems:
1) The price in ARS is not showing in the shop and product page.
2) The convertion in the cart and checkout page is doing the USD price divided the ARS rate instead of multiplying.
Okay, so what is happening is the module treats the product base price currency as the currency you have entered the price in. This means that if your store’s base currency is USD and you set the “Currency per Product” option to ARS it will think that the original price (3.48) is already in the ARS and will convert it “back” to USD in the cart.
If you would like to enter prices in USD and show them as ARS, you should use “Multicurrency (Currency Switcher)” module without adding the currency switcher anywhere to your site, and set the base currency to ARS. This module will allow you to enter prices in USD or ARS and will show them as ARS by default.
This, however, will not allow charging your customers in USD. Unfortunately I cannot come up with a better solution given these Booster modules and settings.
I setup my woocommerce base currency to “ARS”.
I added the price in the product in “USD”.
Activated the module Multicurrency (Currency Switcher) without adding the currency switcher anywhere in my site.
Activated the Currency Exchange Rates for USD.
Still nothing happends. I’m still seeing all the prices like I entered in the product.
Could you try out adding the switcher and manually choosing ARS to see if it changes?
Thanks. I made it work, but is affecting the shipping cost as well.
For better understanding I think I should open with my final goal.
I want to modify the price of the products/variations everywhere, but not the shipping cost. I know I can do it with the “Price by Formula” module, but I also want to show the same price on Facebook, since we connected our WooCommerce with Facebook, but if I use the “Price by Formula” module, Facebook is using the price entered in the product/variation and not the one after the formula is executed.
