# curl_setopt errors

 * Actually just upgraded to 2.9 and I am getting this error message
 *     ```
       Warning: curl_setopt() [function.curl-setopt]: CURLPROTO_FILE cannot be activated when in safe_mode or an open_basedir is set in /hosted/domains/f/o/forever-romeo.com/public_html/wp-includes/http.php on line 1302

       ```
   
 * at first it was showing in the google blog search window in dashboard, but has
   since disappeared now it is showing on the plugin page but only while i have 
   the simplepress forum plugin activated and i don’t see it anywhere else that 
   i can think of at moment

 * I’m getting this too. WordPress 2.9. I always see it in the WordPress Development
   Blog widget, and sometimes in the Incoming Links widget.
 * If anyone knows what’s wrong, I am all ears.

 * I found a solution posted in another part of the forum. Go to: [http://www.semiologic.com/2009/12/21/wp-2-9-three-bugs-and-how-to-fix-them/](http://www.semiologic.com/2009/12/21/wp-2-9-three-bugs-and-how-to-fix-them/)
 * and download the patched files Zip. Copy them to your WP_INCLUDES directory as
   instructed, and voila! FIXED!!
