• Hello,

I am running into a problem with the HungryFEED plugin on a WordPress site installed on a local Windows machine at work behind a proxied firewall.

The error I get is “HungryFEED can’t get feed. Don’t be mad at HungryFEED. SimplePie reported: cURL error 7: couldn’t connect to host“

I used the HungryFEED plugin on a similar WordPress installation on my home computer which is directly connected to the internet (no proxy) machine and I am not having any problem

The feed url is valid. I installed another rss fetcher plugin (dirty suds’s ‘RSS embed’) on the same website at work, and placed the same feed on the same page with shortcodes for both plugins. RSS embed fetched the feed alright, but HungryFEED gave the cURL error 7.

I want to use hungryFEED since it gives me more customization options, but must get it to work. please help.

It sounds like it must be something between cURL and your proxy. I’m not exactly sure how that would be fixed, but perhaps there is some system-wide setting for cURL that can indicate there is a proxy being used..?

I’m afraid I haven’t run into that and I don’t know enough about proxy services to know how to troubleshoot.

I’d be interested to hear any info that you are able to find out though.
