• Hi,
Sorry to be a pain, but ive trying to resolve this issue for the last 7 hours trying to get cu3er v1 to work with a theme that uses it.

I have installed a WP theme that uses cu3er for the images at the top of the page. Once the theme is installed and activated, the header display images dont show up on the webpage only the cu3er logo.

I searched for cu3er plugin in WP, but its not available. So i downloaded it from the cu3er website, version 1. Tried installing it via plugins tab in WP but gave me the error “the plugin doesn’t have valid header”

So i searched and looked at different websites and pages to fix tis problem, have followed them correctly i assume but im still not getting cu3er to work with my website.

I have ftp`d into my site and tried ploading the plugin in the plugins folder, but still no luck.

Please advise as im going to pull my hair out soon.

    Thanks, and nfo appreciated.

P.S please dont say search google and you will find a fix, as i have been doing that for the last 7 hours and still have not been successful with this.

    Here’s a couple of ideas:
Try checking your theme’s support for the CU3ER instructions.
I know that a lot of theme authors that were using the CU3ER have switch to Nivo, which is a non-flash jQuery alternative (with a less restrictive license)
You might check to see if your theme supports the Nivo slider.

    Hi bbn,

How can i check if the theme supports Nivo?

Im pretty sure there is a way around this with cu3er. The cu3er plugin just doesnt seem to want to work or load the banner…

The themes seem to work fine on the designers demo site without any problems, just cant get it to work on my server just yet..

Im pretty sure it a llugin problem, wheter ive installed it correctly or in the right locations.

Does the theme you’re using have any instructions, support forums, documentation? That would be the first place to look.

They dont have support, or any documentation 🙁

    Okay,
What’s the theme name? The location of the demo site that is working? The URL for the site that you’re working on?
FYI Cu3er is not GPL, so you will not find it in the official plugin repository.

And you can try the cu3er forums as well.

This is what cu3er instructions say:

    Thank you for downloading CU3ER!

Follow this steps to install CU3ER on your site (replace yourdomain with your domain url (e.g. getcu3er.com):

    1. Copy CU3ER.swf and js folder to http://yourdomain.com/
    2. Copy CU3ER-config.xml to http://yourdomain.com/CU3ER-config.xml
    3. Copy content of /images folder to http://yourdomain.com/images/
    4. Copy content of /fonts folder to http://yourdomain.com/fonts/
    5. View page source of embed_example.html and
    a) copy first <!– CU3ER content JavaScript part starts here –> until <!– CU3ER content JavaScript part end here –> to HEAD part of your HTML document where you want to place CU3ER
    b) copy first <!– CU3ER content HTML part starts here –> until <!– CU3ER content HTML part ends here –> to BODY part of your HTML document where you want to place CU3ER

    Here is the demo theme

    Here is my site.

cu3er problem as you can see…

Those are two different themes. Either way, here’s the deal:
The theme you’re working with has base 64 encoded code in the footer. This is just the first of many potential problems you could have with this theme (malware, even hijacking). Themes like this one are circulated around the internet to get linkbacks for affiliate marketers and spammer SEOs.
They’re usually not coded very well, or kept up to date, or well documented or supported.
Here’s my advice: If you need a theme with the cu3er slideshow, and you want it to work out of the box, I suggest checking out the display theme from kreisi. You can find it over at themeforest.
If you need to go with a free theme, I suggest sticking with themes that are in the official WordPress.org repository.

Thanks for the info Josh, appreciated.
Didnt realise that free themes can have malicious code, shall be careful from now.
Also thanks for the links, good info in them.
Shall find someone reputable to get a theme off.

Shall try another theme and see if cu3er header works.
