Support » Plugin: The Events Calendar » CSV import on imports 1st 5 rows

When importing entries using CSV file, only the 1st 5 rows are imported. I have done this for Venues and Events. I have read the CSV support documentation and am using the file templates, as well as changed settings as suggested. It appears to be working as there are venues and events being created, but I have to split the main sheet into many, and upload many times.
Also, the import progress bar always stays on a small percentage and the dot in the circle continuously spins for a long time. In the history tab it will say that it is in progress and that 5 new entries have been imported, but then after a considerable amount of time it eventually says there was an error. I have left the import running for hours, but still get the same result; 5 are imported immediately and then it officially fails after a long time. This is the free version.
Please could you advise if there is a way around this?
    Thanks
    Sharif

    Hey @sharifo

    Yikes! That’s not good.
Would you mind providing a link to your CSV file so that we can troubleshoot?

    Best regards,

    Hi Geoff,

Thanks for getting back to me. The link below is to the venue file that I used. I ended up repeatedly uploading the file after removing each of the 5 that were imported successfully. I have been doing something similar for Events as well

    Thanks for the file @sharifo

I just tested your file and it imported like a breeze. Way beyond 5 lines!

So it sounds like the issue is caused by one of the following things:

    • A plugin conflict
    • A theme conflict (sometimes a setting – e.g.: some Divi settings impact The events calendar)

The best approach to pinpoint the issue is found here: https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/testing-for-conflicts/

Basically, you will want to make sure that you have an environment where you can test these things without impacting your website visitors.

Please make sure you are using the latest version of WordPress, of The Events Calendar and that the version of PHP you are using is not deprecated.

Let us know what you find out šŸ™‚

    Hi Geoff,
Thanks for checking the file and pointing me towards the conflict knowledgebase. I think it was to do with Elementor, as once I had switched to Twenty Seventeen I was able to upload all items!

Thanks again for your help, it’s very much appreciated
    Sharif
