Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 71 bytes) in /home/kino/public_html/dir/wp-content/plugins/business-directory-plugin/admin/csv-import.php on line 362

I try few times. Sometimes it seems like no errors but only 1k Data imported out of 100k Data!

    Hi gainmoneytool,

That particular error says that you’re running out of server memory during the import. That could happen because you have very little memory allocated for your site (268MB is a reasonable amount) or the file you are importing is very, very large with images (probably more likely the case). If you can’t import the whole thing, try splitting the file up into 2, 3 or 4 parts and then import it.

    Hi businessdirectoryplugin,

i m working with your plugin for a long time and it seems to be a problem with the number of post within wordpress.

On my blog i have around 75.000 Pages. At the beginning of my import-sessions i was able to import around 1000 Pages in one CSV without any problems. At the moment i can only import 100 Pages at one turn. If i try to import around 150-200 Pages with an CSV i get an memory error too.

I dont know how your plugin is working but seems to me that there is a function that is connected to the amount of Pages / Post of wordpress?!

Is there a way to solve this problem?

Best regards from germany and respect to your plugin!

    HI Yvalio,

The importer depends on a number of things, available memory, timeout length and the kind of data you’re importing are all factors on how many listings you can import at once. Since I don’t know much about the data you’re importing here, I’m going to guess that the listings are fairly large, they may have large images attached to them, and your web timeout is normal (about 30-60 sec).

There’s no specific function about our import that is connected to page numbers or sizes. We’re limited mainly by those 3 things above. This is something we need to enhance because long imports are not unreasonable, so we need a better solution to work with here.
