# csv import

 * Hi!
 * I’m trying to import some events with a CSV file. We had a smooth process for
   a while but we are now hit with the following error message (French):
 * **Les champs suivants sont requis pour lancer l’importation :
    Date de début 
   de l’évènement
 * Which roughly transtales to:
 * _The following fields are required for import: Event start date_
 * Everything shows up smoothly up to the preview screen. Then, the import is set
   at pending and nothing is imported.
 * I tried multiple date formats (YYYY-MM-DD, DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY) and my headers
   seem just fine. Here’s a one line sample:
 * EVENT NAME,VENUE NAME,ORGANIZER NAME,START DATE,START TIME,END DATE,END TIME,
   ALL DAY EVENT?,CATEGORIES,EVENT COST,EVENT PHONE,EVENT WEBSITE,SHOW MAP LINK?,
   SHOW MAP?,EVENT DESCRIPTION
    La marche de l’empereur,Concept Ekilibre,Concept
   Ekilibre,8/6/2018,,8/6/2018,,TRUE,WOD,,(819) 542-1610,[http://www.conceptekilibre.com/](http://www.conceptekilibre.com/),,,”
   <p align=center><span style=’font-size:25.0pt;font-family:””Arial””,sans-serif;
   color:#0082C8′>La marche de l’empereur</span></p> <p align=center><span style
   =’font-size:16.0pt;font-family:””Arial””,sans-serif;color:#blue’></span></p> ”
 * I also tried importing one line from the sample file and it doesn’t work either.
   Any clues?

 * Thanks for reaching out — sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties.
 * Can you share the file that you are trying to import?
 * Sometimes other plugins can interfere with the import process, it might be worth
   disabling any other than [The Events Calendar](https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar/).

 * Notice that when you click preview, you are given a table with select boxes above
   it. [The Events Calendar](https://theeventscalendar.com/product/wordpress-events-calendar/)
   tries to match your fields up to the ones that it’s looking for, but sometimes
   you need to assign them yourself → [http://p.tri.be/xIPnDo](http://p.tri.be/xIPnDo)
 * Also note how venue name, organizer and start date are set to do not import. 
   This is the issue here, for each of those, select the proper item (don’t forget
   to scroll to the right for the rest). You’ll notice that some of those have been
   selected for you.

 * Wow… thanks Ed! Since we didn’t change anything in our code or process, I would
   never have looked at these settings.
