 * Despite updates to v1.0.7 and 1.0.4 for pro, CSSHero v2.3 still doesn’t work.
 * I beginning to wonder if could be easily resolved it would have been. Seems more
serious than just a quick correction.
 * Question now is, does one stay with Elementor/Pro and forgo CSSHERO, or viceversa…..

 * I know some pretty radical changes have been made to accommodate folks that use
these tools. For example, Elementor used to use generated id attributes for each
element added to the builder which were used by it’s own generated css and the
new Pro custom css module but there was a conflict w/ csshero so they decided
to retool the plugin to use class attributes instead, removing all the previous
   id atts.
 * This messed a lot of us up that had already written our own custom css using
these selectors and we had to go back and refactor our css for every single page.
It’s wasn’t a huge chore for me but also something I hope to never have to do
again, especially without too much of an announcement of a pretty significant
change imho. However I still see the value in these visual css tools but not
if I have to switch between admin pages. I want it all in the page builder and
am pushing for more css control which it sounds like we are going to get very
soon in Pro of course. Not trying to bash tools like csshero but once one has
a grip on writing css these tools just slow you down and frustrate you with limitations.
If you work on websites for a living, anything to get the job done faster is
   a welcomed luxury.
 * On another note, have you tried the Yellow Pencil CSS Editor plugin? It’s similar
to CSS Hero and also provides a full css code editor with point and click selector
control. A tad bulky for me still and personally I’ve found using the new WP
4.7 customizer custom css is fast and easy, yet again, provided you know how
to write css and still requiring me to switch between admin pages. I don’t prefer
to leave the css there as it’s stored in the database. Once I have everything
I like, I just cut and paste the css into my theme css files removing the extra
database call and allowing minification and compression for good page scores.
 * Other than all that, maybe provide a little more detail as to what specifically
doesn’t work with csshero or link to a thread that provides that information,
maybe we can figure it out.

 * Sorry about your experience. We’re working with the developer of CSS Hero to
solve this problem. Because of the holidays I think that it will take some time
   🙁

 * [@philip](https://wordpress.org/support/users/philip/),
 * Thanks for the suggestion, I will check out out the Yellow Pencil plug in.
 * As far as what doesn’t work, there are other threads that spell out the problem(
and I probably should have continued those). In a nutshell, CSSHero can no long
select the specific areas to modify. It only selects the topmost level.
 * Both the folks at CSSHero and Elementor have been in contact in attempts to correct
the issue. It doesn’t seem to be an easy fix since Elementor has had 2 updates
   since and still no love.
 * I really like elementor/pro so your suggestion of Yellow Pencil might just be
the ticket since I would rather find another CSS plugin rather than another builder.
And I don’t want to wait for Beaver Builder and Thrive Themes 2.

 * I understand, the holiday slows everything down, and I wasn’t being impatient.
I appreciate that greater minds than mind were aware and working on it.
 * I was just trying to help in my small way sharing that the issues still happens
with the v1.0.7 version of Elementor.
 * Thanks,

 * Also [csspeeper](https://csspeeper.com) is a pretty nifty new plugin for chrome
that let’s you grab selectors, dimensions, color palettes and other useful information
that might help you. It doesn’t provide css editing but at least let’s you grab
selectors pretty easily without using the browser inspector.

 * I’ll check it out along with Microthemer.
 * Yellow Pencil is great BTW, very similar to CSSHero but they have the classic
Envato per-site licensing. Couldn’t find a volume or unlimited license option
   so the search continues…

 * Yeah, but technically it’s only the support that expires after 6mo so you have
it to download for lifetime whereas w/ CSSHero and Elementor Pro it’s for an
entire year but without renewing you can’t download future, secure and stable
   versions.
 * So it depends on where you place that bang in your buck.
 * For me, I’m not looking for tech support as often as I’m just seeking to keep
bugs at bay so longevity is the tangible software product that is most important
for me. I’m okay with paying for support on an as needed basis or it’s own plan
but its hard to swallow that future bug fixes for an already purchased product
may become out of reach when not renewing. I obviously compromised on this preference
when it came to Elementor Pro because I see how fast this product continues to
evolve and the additional value it provides, however it’s yet to be seen whether
I can afford another $199 next year on my starving developer budget =)
 * If it replaces my entire front-end workflow and saves me even a couple hours
a year, I really can’t can’t afford not to stay on board for the long haul.

 * Unless I’m missing something, Yellow Pencil is $15 per site/domain licensing
setup. It can add up pretty quickly. Support I’m not too worried about.
 * As far as Elementor Pro, the renewal (for updates and support) is $99 (half off
the regular fee). Developers who use this structure (which is fair, I’m not complaining)
will usually time big updates to coincide with the one year anniversary of the
initial release. Of course, it could really be just accidental timing 🙂

 * Oh great to know the renewal for Elementor Pro is 50% off!
 * As far as Envato, most plugin/theme authors are web-professional friendly and
let you use a rotating license as long as you deactivate the lic when you are
finished. For example, I search “license” in the comments and found this by the
plugin author in response to there being no option to purchase a bulk license
for web devs. Many theme and plugin authors would indeed offer an unlimited license
but Envato does not support this anymore, only a bulk lic for reselling the plugin
in your own theme for sale. See this from WaspThemes in response to a guy w/
   approx 25 sites:

 * Ah ok, This is a workaround. It’s seems to me that it’s less beneficial for the
author that just offering a unlimited plan, but I guess it’s an Envato restriction.
 * I’m happy with the CSS Hero setup…if it only worked. I’ll give it another day
or so and then pull the plug on CSS Hero.
 * Someone metioned another similar plugin, microthemer, so I guess I’ll give them
   a try.
