Support » Plugin: MailChimp List Subscribe Form » CSS Styling of the widget

  • I want to style the subscribe-widget. I know how to style with CSS, but I am not using the widget as widget, since I do not have a sidebar in my WordPress theme. Most of the things can be styled, but I want to style for example the “widget-title”.

Is it not possible the style it without using it as a widget?

    Hi Sophiamolino,

Thanks for hopping in the forum. Just to make sure we’re on the same page. Can you send us a link to the page that has the form? Also how is this form being added to the page, are you using the shortcode? And finally what specific text in the form are you trying to style?

We look forward to hearing from you!

    Hi Dominic,

Thanks so much for wanting me to help out!

I removed the form now, because I want it to be styled first. I did adding it with a shortcode indeed, which causes it not to be a widget. I want to style the title, which in my case will be “sign up for newsletter”. Hope you know which part of the form Im talking about.

.widget_mailchimpsf_widget This targets the entire widget container.
.widget-title This styles the title of your MailChimp widget. Modifying this class will affect your other widget titles.

I want to change these two, btw!

    HI Sophiamolino,

When using the shortcode the css classes would change a bit. With the shortcode the header and the container are separate. To target just the title of the widget, add styling to this css class: .mc_custom_border_hdr Everything else in the form can be styled by targeting #mc_signup. The cheatsheet in the plugin settings had tips on the other sections that can be styled.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for making this clear!! 🙂
