• Hi,

A quick optimisation question, if I may.

GP has two options in the Customising/General section:
    1. Combine CSS
    2. Cache dynamic CSS

Most (all?) caching plugins (eg LiteSpeed Cache, Swift, Rocket) have options for CSS optimisation too (minify, combine, load async, generate critical CSS).

What is the best approach to take?
    a) Use only the GP options
    b) Use only the cache plugin options
    c) Use the cache plugin and exclude any GP CSS
    d) Something else! 🙂

    Thanks

  • Hi there,

You can keep both of those settings checked if you’re using a Cache Plugin.

But don’t expect any benefit from #2 Cache dynamic CSS as the plugin will do this.

Whereas #1 Combine CSS actually swaps the unsemantic grid css for a lightweight version so this reduces the overall file sizes…. by a couple of kb.

Best approach is up to you …. but at GP we only use Autoptimize where necessary.

    Thanks David. Much appreciated.

    You’re welcome
