  • Resolved horrorview

    Hey folks!

I hope one of you can help me. My site is and I’m trying to tighten up my page’s look a bit. Currently I’ve a logo in place but there’s a lot of dead space below and above that I can’t seem to shrink down in the Edit CSS area. I’d like to bring the logo up higher toward the menu, and also decrease the distance between the bottom of it and the slideshow. It doesn’t look TOO bad on a desktop, but it’s horrible on a mobile or tablet, as the logo and padding around it take up over half the screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! 🙂

    Jim 🙂

  • Hello,
    Hope you are well.

I can see why you are having problems. I mean, you don’t even have a logo selector for your CSS. Might want to use a better coded theme.

Yeah it’s odd! The theme comes with an area to load the logo (as well as a retina logo!) but once it’s in there I can’t find the css for it to reduce the padding around it or anything. This is my first WordPress site; I’m used to Drupal themes which usually have a single style sheet I can edit to my heart’s content. I figured maybe someone here would have a rough idea of how to get around it. 😛

Can you please post your header.php file in a GitHub Gist? This way I can see if something can be done, and you don’t hog space here on the forum.

It is kind of weird, the site looks fine now.

    Please advise.

I was actually toying around with other themes per your suggestion as it doesn’t seem there’s any way around adjusting that header on Silvia. You may have popped in when I was doing that. lol. I believe I may stay with Modality, but I’m not a fan of the container div on the static page as it sort of ruins the slideshow plug-in I’m using. I’ll take that question over to the appropriate forum though! 🙂

    Thanks for your help!
