css auto classes for child/parent pages?

  • Hi,

I use css for my side navigation bar of pages, which have a background color for the current_page_item class, to hightlight the current page viewed.

One of the pages in the navigation list is a page with a list of its child pages. When browsing to a child page, the highlight class is being removed, since the current_page_item is different.

Is there a way to use css only w/o plugins, to have a class of the parent page let’s say, so when viewing a child page, it will recognize its parent, and give it a class, and to be able highlighting the father page item also when viewing it’s childs?

    Thanks,
    M
