  • Should the cron notifications configured in this plugin cease to run if the plugin is disabled? I would think so, but maybe they are getting saved into the global config.

    We have used the plugin in the past, it is currently disabled, but admin notification emails (and possibly those to subscribers?) from the plugin are still being generated when new posts are added to the site.

    Seems odd to me.

    Hello @efishinsea,

    If Email Subscribers is disabled it won’t send any notifications to anyone even if the posts are published so this should not be the case.

    Can you please check there is no other plugin other than Email Subscribers that might be sending the notifications? Let us know about this.

    Hi.

    Not other than what I have mentioned. In the end, I had to re-enabled the plugin, disable the notifications, and then re-disable the plugin to make them stop.

    Hi there,

    I am really sorry for the delay in my response. We will try to find the cause of the issue and fix it as soon as possible.

    In one case we suspect it may happen is that Email Subscribers have sent emails from its end and they have been queued at the server level for sending. In that case, these emails will still be sent even if the Email Subscribers plugin is inactive if the queue is not cleared immediately and the server sends them later on while clearing its email queue. Since the queue management, in this case, is at the server level, Email Subscribers won’t be having any control over it. But the likelihood of this being cause of the issue is very rare though.

    Is the issue is consistently replicating on your site? We are trying to replicate the issue on our end but it seems like it working as expected and no new emails are sent when the plugin is inactive.

    Let us know if the issue is consistently occurring then we may have to debug the issue more. Also do let us know if you have any further queries.
