    Hi,

I’ve tried to configure a scheduled newsletter with no success.

My last configuration was “Send immediately when there is new content”, but my newsletter was not sent, so I’ve activated logs. I can see two new posts under ‘post_notif’ label. It is difficult to read logged data, but I’ve found something quite suspicious:
    event new-articles
    when-article immediate
    subscribetolist 1
    roles any
    numberafter [empty string]
    numberofwhat immediate
    dayevery 1
    dayname monday
    daynumber 1
    time 17:00:00
    nextSend -1
    late_send 23-01-16 01:00:00 PM (1453550400)

I don’t understand values of parameters “nextSend”, time or daynumber.

Then I’ve installed WP-Crontrol and I’ve figured out that no cron event or cron schedule related to Mailpoet were found.

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks

    Hi,

I’ve tried to set a cron job in my server, but newsletter was not sent. Only manual newsletters are working.

    Cheers

You can try webcron who will call your URL at a specific time like run newsletter with your manually.
    PS: a tutorial at https://www.easycron.com/cron-job-tutorials/how-to-set-up-cron-job-for-mailpoet-newsletters.

Thank you for your tip, but my cron URL is not working.

First, WP-Crontrol prevents MailPoet’s Cron from working.
Second, what option do you have selected in Settings > Advanced > Geeky Options > Enable MailPoet’s Cron ?

    Hi,

Ok, WP-Crontrol was disabled and uninstalled after those tests. Thank you anyway.

I’ve tried with all options under Settings > Advanced > Geeky Options > Enable MailPoet’s Cron.

This is an example of my process:

    1) Enable newsletter
    2) Create new post
    3) Hit cron url (with browser)
    4) This message is shown in my browser: “MailPoet’s cron is ready. Simply setup a CRON job on your server (cpanel or other) to trigger this page.”
    5) Newsletter is not received

    Thanks

    Hi takut,

it seems to be a recurring problem for all of us :). Here is my two cents on that, that i have just posted to an other guy.
I personnaly use a manual cron job on my websites and i have noticed that as long as you didn’t change the sending frequency in the “Sending by” tab, Mailpoet don’t define some needed tasks in the WP cron events.
So, actually, the only way that i’ve found to correct what i call a little bug 🙂 is to change that setting.
BTW, MailPoet will define 5 new tasks (wysija_cron_queue, wysija_cron_daily, wysija_cron_bounce, wysija_cron_weekly and wysija_cron_monthly) in the WP cron events that will be triggered by your cron and everything will be fine :).
To be sure that your manual cron will be executed correctly, go to the settings of MailPoet, then “Advanced” tab > click on the link “Show” of “Geeky Options” and verify that the checkbox “Enable MailPoet’s Cron” is UNCHECKED 😉

    Amicably,

    Pierre.

    Hi, Pierre,

Thank you very much for your message. Finally, I’ve figured out where my problem is. I’m using a custom shortcode and it creates the content of my newsletter. If I add the widget “Recently added content” before my shortcode, every works fine.

So, my question is: what this widget do? Can I do the same thing?

    (@wysija)

@takut, we already replied to you via email yesterday. Unfortunately, you need the ALC widget to trigger your post notification newsletters.

His problem was not related to MailPoet Cron.

    Hi Pierre,

What do you mean by “manual cron”? Is EasyCron a way to activate the “manual cron?

    fx

    Hi fxtv,

by “manual cron” I mean a CRON task defined in the cPanel of my hosting provider ;).

    Amicably,

    Pierre.

On one of my websites it is working great with the Cron Job CHECKED under Geeky Options; however, on another website I cannot get it to worked.

Curently the only difference I see is that on the one that is working, the URL link to copy has www. and the one not working does not. Hopefully adding the www. to the one not working will help. The mail sender has been stuck on 60/696 for two days now according to my client. I am trying to send manually and it just sits and runs with no end seemingly in sight.

Both websites are on the same server and same theme. I have been having problems with Mailpoet sending mail for over a year now and a few of my clients wanted to upgrade to the paid version but not if they will still have this problem.

    Ho
