# Critical PHP-Error after plugin update

 * Hi there,
 * we’re seeing a critical PHP error after updating the plugin to Version 0.9.5:
 * `Fatal error: Can't use function return value in write context in /www/htdocs/
   w0137b67/example.org/wp-content/plugins/multisite-post-duplicator/inc/mpd-functions.
   php on line 697`
 * We’re not sure, what causes this problem and how we can get around. On another
   blog the plugin is working after the update, so it doesn’t seem to be a general
   error.
 * We’re running PHP 5.5 and 5.6, both versions won’t work.
 * Any ideas? Thanks a lot!

 * I can see the problem. I’m using a functiin `empty()` in the wrong context. Only
   certain versions of php will understand. I believe. I’ll put a fix out before
   the end of the day. Sorry about that and I really appreciate you letting me know!
   The drawbacks of only being able to test on one version of php!
